The Idle Air Control valve is a device managed by the engine control unit (ECU).It controls the amount of air entering the engine when the throttle is closed, in order to maintain a smooth and stable idle speed.
By adjusting the bypass air passage, it compensates for engine load changes, such as when the air conditioning, power steering, or electrical systems are operating.
A faulty IAC valve usually causes rough idle, stalling, high idle speed, or unstable engine rpm at idle.
